Why Practice Yoga?

Why Practice Yoga?

Yoga is an outlet. It provides a way for each of us to free ourselves from negative effects of stress in our lives.

Stress has become an inevitable part of modern daily life. Without a healthy outlet to decompress, this constant physical and mental pressure can manifest in our lives as physical aches and pains, muscle tension, digestive issues, high blood pressure, headaches, anxiety, depression, insomnia and countless other ailments.

When we come to our mats to practice, we have the opportunity to cultivate what we need to return back to balance. Move and stretch the body to gain flexibility and alleviate stiffness and tension. Protect your joints by learning proper alignment as you move through each posture. Build strength and endurance by holding poses, and harness your breath to develop mental stamina as you mindfully push to the edge of your limits.

As you slowly start to strengthen and transform your body, you may also come to discover a multitude of positive side effects that will permeate all other areas of your life. These benefits include:

  • improved balance
  • relief from stress
  • mental clarity
  • elevated mood
  • increased vitality
  • confidence
  • peace

You will see an increased sense of joy throughout your life. And of course, cultivating genuine friendships as you connect in community with other people on a similar journey of self-improvement.
